‘Pharaoh’ Salah scores his 200th career league goal

Mohamed Salah scored his 200th league goal of his career.

Liverpool defeated Everton 2-0 in the ninth round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) at Anfield in Liverpool, England, on April 21. The Reds temporarily moved into first place in the league with 20 points.

It was a difficult game for Liverpool. The Reds pushed Everton hard from the start of the game, but couldn’t break through their organized defense. After Ashley Young was sent off in the 37th minute for accumulating cautions, Everton were on the defensive and couldn’t find a way through.

Salah was the solution. In the 28th minute, Luis Diaz’s cross from the left was blocked by Michael Keane, who unnaturally extended his arm to touch the ball, and video review showed a penalty kick (PK). Salah stepped up and slotted it home for the winner. It was a shot that rendered Jordan Pickford’s water bottle PK data useless.

He also scored the game-winning goal. Salah neatly slotted home a pass from Darwin Núñez on the counterattack in second-half stoppage time.

Salah reaches 200 league goals in his career. Salah scored his first goal for Almokharoun Al-Arab in Egypt in 2010, but it was at AS Roma that he really unleashed his scoring instincts. Since his offensive breakthrough at Liverpool, he has been a consistent league scorer, netting at least 19 goals in the league every season.

This season, he is second in the EPL in goals. His multi-goal performance was his seventh in the league, passing Son Heung-min and 토토사이트 Alexander Isaacs (both with six). The current top scorer is Elling Holland. He also became the first player in the league to reach double-digit EPL attacking points with 11.

He is seven goals away from 200 for Liverpool. Salah has scored 193 goals for Liverpool since the 2017-2018 season. With his goal-scoring pace, he is on track to reach 200 goals for Liverpool this season.
