Women’s Basketball Woori Bank returns to tie for 1st place with KB, one day after beating Hana OneQ

Asan Woori Bank has won five straight games to move into a tie for first place with Cheongju KB in the women’s professional basketball league.

Woori Bank defeated Bucheon Hana WonQ 60-48 in their home game of the Woori Bank Woori WON 2023-2024 Women’s Professional Basketball League regular season at Asan Yi Sunshin Gymnasium on Saturday.

With its fifth straight win, Woori Bank moved up half a place from second place to a tie for first place with Cheongju KB (11-1).

KB had taken sole possession of the lead with a win over Incheon Shinhan Bank the day before, but Woori moved back into the lead just one day later.

Woori Bank has only lost to KB once this season.

Hana OneQ, which lost two straight to the leaders after winning three straight, remained in fourth place (5-8).

Woori made it a 10-point game, 27-17, midway through the second quarter on a paint-zone basket by Noh Hyun-ji and a three-pointer by Lee Myung-kwan.

Woori Bank ran away with the game in the third quarter, led by Choi Yi-sam, who hit three 3-pointers, and Kim Dan-bi, who scored six points, and led 51-29, a 22-point lead, at the end of the quarter.

In the fourth quarter, with the scoreline unchanged, Hana OneQ sent a number of bench members onto the court, effectively raising a white flag.

Kim Dan-bi led the way for Woori Bank, scoring 16 points and grabbing nine rebounds, the most for both teams.

Choi Yi-sam also scored 14 points, including a trio of 3-pointers in the third quarter that threw cold water on the Hana OneQ comeback effort.

Hana OneQ was so lethargic that no player scored in double digits. 토토
