With coach Yun Ho-jin’s mercenary skills and Yonsei University’s players’ unwavering persistence, Yonsei University finally won against Korea University.

Yonsei University defeated Korea University 57-54 in a regular match against the 2024 team held at Goyang Gymnasium on Sunday. Since this year’s regular match will be hosted by Korea University, the official name will be “Kyojeon.”

Manager Yoon Ho-jin’s thorough preparation and a clear game plan contributed to Yonsei’s victory on the day. On the day, Yonsei University envisioned a starting lineup of Lee Kyu-tae, Kim Bo-bae, Choi Hyung-chan, Lee Ju-young and Kim Seung-woo. It was the most threatening and destructive lineup Yonsei University could conceive.

In fact, Yonsei University was able to take the lead early in the game with Kim Seung-woo and Lee Ju-young’s outer guns exploding. Korea University also deployed Shim Joo-eon with good outer shots in response, but coach Yoon Ho-jin took measures to strengthen the height.

Coach Yoon Ho-jin put in Kang Ji-hoon, as opposed to his opponent’s lineup, and his maneuvering worked beautifully. Taking to the court, Kang took the lead in taking the lead by winning rebounds in succession with his brisk physical movements and making a powerful two-hand in-your-face dunk on offense.
At the end of the third quarter when Korea University was accelerating its pursuit, Coach Yun Ho-jin brought up a 3-2 regional defense and deployed Kim Seung-woo and Lee Yoo-jin in succession. As freshmen, they could feel nervous, but they repaid the coach’s trust by making tremendous performances.

Kim Seung-woo helped the team by actively participating in the rebound, and Lee Yoo-jin also supported the team based on accurate mid-range shots and free throws.

Since then, Yonsei University has also faced a major crisis, as its coach Yun Ho-jin’s tricks have been taken care of several times. Korea University started its last chase with Moon Yoo-hyun and Lee Dong-geun in the fourth quarter. Worse yet, Yonsei University had Lee Ju-young back to the bench complaining of muscle spasms.

However, coach Yoon Ho-jin displayed strong determination. He continued to stick to the lineup consisting of Choi Hyung-chan, Lee Kyu-tae, Kim Bo-bae, Ahn Sung-woo, and Kim Seung-woo without major change of players. Notably, Choi tried to shoot mid-range shots only 1:41 before the game ended, which was sucked into the net. It was the moment when Yonsei University again took the lead (53-52).

This was Choi Hyung-chan’s only score on the day, but at an important moment, he scored and was able to pour cold water on the opponent’s flow. Since then, Yonsei University has been able to end the fierce match by adding Lee Kyu-tae’s mid-range shot and Kim Bo-bae’s dunk.토토사이트

Yonsei University defeated Korea University for 10 consecutive years, which lasted for about three years. At the center of the victory was Yoon Ho-jin, who trusted players and did not abandon his philosophy of basketball, although he played a part in the determination and concentration of players.

After the game, coach Yoon Ho-jin said, “My pride has been hurt, but I will shake off all the pain with today’s victory. Thank you so much for trusting and following the coach even though the players have been through a lot.”

Will Yonsei, led by coach Yoon Ho-jin, be able to continue this trend in the final U-League match and playoffs against Chung-Ang University? Yonsei’s upcoming schedule is a home game against Chung-Ang University on October 4.
