The Statistics Survey announced visitors to Macau for the month of November, up 9.4% from last November, with more than 2.83 million people visiting Macau.
Overnight visitors for the month increased by 10% year-on-year, with 1.51 million people staying downtown for more than a day, while Macau saw an 8.8% increase in November visitors to 1.32 million compared to the same month.
The number of travelers from mainland China reached 1.98 million, just over 16 percent. Of these, 886,093 people used individual travel plans, up 12% from last year. The majority of the tourists from mainland China are from Hunan, Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces.
The second and third largest markets for Macau visitors are Hong Kong and Taiwan, with visitors to Hong Kong down 6.8%, while visitors to Taiwan edged up 0.7%. The number of visitors to Korea increased by 16.9 percent during the month.
The total number of visitors this year is nearly 29.56 million, up more than 5% from the same period last year.
