Djokovic, the winner of the most men’s singles in the tennis major tournament, has made it to the finals in all four major tournaments this year.
Djokovic defeated Ben Shelton (47th, USA) 3-0 (6-3 6-2 7-6 <7-4>) in the semifinals of the men’s singles on the 12th day of the tournament at Billy Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on the 8th (local time).
Djokovic, who won the Australian Open and the French Open this year and finished second at Wimbledon, made it to the singles finals of the four major tournaments this year.
The winner of the Wimbledon winner and world No. 1 Carlos Alcaras of Spain and Daniil Medvedev (3rd, Russia) will face Djokovic in the final on the 10th.
Djokovic holds the record for the most wins (23 times) in men’s singles in major tournaments, and if she wins this tournament, she will be on par with 24 times in Margaret Court (retired, Australia), the record for the most wins in women’s singles in major tournaments.
Djokovic also holds the record for the most singles finals in major tournaments with 36 times.
Djokovic continued his 31-game winning streak against U.S. players with the victory and will return to the top of the world rankings next week regardless of the results of the tournament.
