Formed in 1754, the R&A Golf Club is the oldest golf club in the world, located in St. Andrews, Scotland. In recognition of its legitimacy, it was given the title of Royal & Scientist by the King of England in 1834. Recently, King Charles III became the patron of the club after the late Queen Elizabeth II.
