Veteran point guard Kim Si-rae joins professional basketball team Wonju DB and works again with ‘old teammate’ Kim Jong-gyu.

DB announced on the 20th, “We signed a contract with point guard Kim Si-rae, who played for Seoul Samsung last season. The period is one year, and the total compensation is 100 million won.”

Kim Si-rae, who joined Ulsan Hyundai Mobis as the first overall pick in the 2012 rookie draft and contributed to the team’s championship from the first season, later grew into a top guard in the league at Changwon LG and worked with Kim Jong-gyu.

Last season, he played in 36 regular league games wearing a Samsung uniform and averaged 6.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.5 rebounds.

Kim Si-rae, who took DB’s hand in this free agent market, reunited with national team center Kim Jong-gyu, who together led LG to the regular league championship in the 2013-2014 season.

The two, who had been together since the 2013-2014 season, worked together at LG until the 2018-2019 season.

As a result, DB added a reliable veteran to its guard lineup, which was supported by last season’s regular league Most Valuable Player (MVP) Lee Seon Albano and Yoo Hyun-jun.

Park Bong-jin played in 35 regular league games for Daegu Korea Gas Corporation in the 2023-2024 season, averaging 2.2 points and 2.0 rebounds.
