Shinhan Bank Nominates Ricah As No. 1

The draft for the 2024-2025 WKBL Asian Quarter Player was held at the Seminar Hall in TKP Garden City, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo on Sunday. With the WKBL deciding to introduce the Asian Quarter Player System from the new season, nine out of 12 participants were selected.

Shinhan Bank in Incheon, which had the top pick overall, chose Rika Tanimura. Tanimura is a big man resource that is 185 centimeters tall.

The fifth-ranked Cheongju KB Stars selected Moe Nagata. He was selected by Japan’s 3×3 national team several times and participated in many international competitions. Last season, he was a teammate of Watabe, who was called by Hana One Q at Denso.

The sixth-ranked Asan Woori Bank chose Momona Miyasaka. Momona is 163 centimeters tall and is a point guard. She will lead the front line of Woori along with Shim Sung-young, who newly joined the team.

In the second round that followed, Sunagawa, Natsuki, and Shida Moe will wear Woori Bank and KB Stars uniforms, respectively. Samsung Life gave up its second-round pick, and Hana OneQ nominated Ishida Yuzuki. The draft was completed as BNK and Shinhan Bank gave up their nominations.
