The team that went 1-5 last week and the team that lost six straight will serve up an ace. It’s a no-holds-barred matchup.
The LG Twins and Lotte Giants will play a three-game midweek series starting on the 16th at home.
Both teams meet at the worst possible time.
LG was swept by the KIA Tigers last week and then lost two straight games to the Doosan Bears after winning one, leaving them with a shocking 1-5 record.
They started the season with 8-1-1, one game behind first-place NC Dinos and half a game behind second-place KIA, but after six games, they are now 9-1-1, 10-1, and a whopping 5.5 games behind first-place KIA (14-4), which has won six straight games. They are tied for fifth place, four games behind second-place NC (13-6).
The team’s season batting average of 2.9-6 and ERA of 4.47 ranked second and fifth, but in the last six games alone, the team’s batting average of 2.6-5 and ERA of 5.33 both dropped to seventh.
LG’s bullpen and its strongest offense have collapsed. Last week, LG’s bullpen ERA was a whopping 9.17, the worst among the 10 teams. Their batting average with runners in scoring position was 1.056. This is what happens when you don’t get the big hit in your chances and can’t run away or catch up, giving your opponent opportunities and your bullpen can’t close, and then you get a lead and lose it, and when you get a lead, you lose it by more runs. Three of our five losses last week were come-from-behind losses.
Lotte is just as bad. They lost all six games, two by three runs or less, and four by four runs or more. Their team ERA in the last six games is 7.79, the worst in the league. The pitching staff is a whopping 7.79 percent. The team’s batting average ranks ninth at 2.2-for-4, and 토토사이트 while their on-base percentage is better than LG’s, it’s still ninth at 2.4-for-5. That’s a terrible two-hitter.
The start of the new week is important. Both LG and Lotte need to start with a win to turn things around. On top of that, they’re both starting foreigners. Detrick Enns will start for LG and Aaron Wilkerson will start for Lotte.
In four games, Enns is 2-0 with a 4.09 ERA. All three of his starts have been quality starts, with the exception of a four-inning, nine-hit, seven-run outing against NC on April 4. He uses a fastball that tops out at 148 kilometers and a cutter, curveball, and changeup to dominate opponents. LG went 6-2 with foreign pitchers Enns and Casey Kelly on the mound. LG will need to get back to their 5-for-5 winning ways with a win tonight with Enns on the mound.
Wilkerson was re-signed after pitching well in 13 games last year, going 7-2 with a 2.26 ERA in 13 starts. This season, he is 1-1 with a 4.64 ERA in four starts. He had only one quality start. He gave up three runs on seven hits (one home run), one walk, and three strikeouts in five innings against Samsung Electronics on Tuesday. Lotte will need to snap the losing streak and turn things around when their foreign ace takes the mound.
Only one of the two teams will break the losing streak, and the other will continue to lose. It’s terrible to lose back-to-back games when your ace is on the mound.
