Belgian media ‘Football Premier’ said on the 8th (Korea Standard Time), “Hong Hyun-seok is likely to leave KAA Hent.”
Hong Hyun-suk joined Ulsan HD after graduating from Hyundai High School in 2018 as a midfielder born in 1999. Soon after joining Ulsan, he left on loan to German third-division club SpVgg Unterhahaing. Afterwards, he moved to Belgium’s prestigious club KAA Hent in 2022 after playing for FC Unioz Ö and LASK Linz.
“I’m a player who plays a lot in the center. I can play all 6, 8, and 10 times,” Hong said at the joining ceremony. He was given the No. 7 jersey and played as a starting player in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.
Hong, who played as the team’s mainstay for two seasons, seems to be on the verge of taking off. According to reports, Hent’s director, Arnar Vidarsson, appeared on the club’s own podcast and said, “We want Hong to stay, but he wants another challenge.” 안전놀이터
Vidarsson said, “The player has the right to say, ‘I will not renew my contract with this team,'” adding, “I will cooperate with Hong Hyun-seok’s transfer.”
Hong Hyun-suk, who also played for Korea’s U-23 and A teams, is known to receive interest from Werder Bremen in Germany. In July, Dutch media Foothalkland said, “Werder Bremen wants to recruit Hong. He had a great season with Hent. He has received interest from many European clubs. He has scored seven goals and eight assists with Hent. The interest of many teams is natural in a way.”
At the time, the media reported, “It is not known for sure, but teams in the five major European leagues entering the European competition showed interest, and one of them is Bremen.”
Vidarsson said, “If Hong stays with us for another year, he will leave the team for no transfer fee in a year. Therefore, we will actively support his transfer.”
