Coast Resorts, Inc. announced a $100 million expansion of its largest hotel-casino, The Orleans

The project is expected completed in phases through the end of 2002.

Featured in the expansion will be a special-events arena, a 620-room hotel tower, a 2,600-car parking garage, six additional movie theaters, two restaurants and an Irish pub. Approximately 40,000 square feet of new gaming area and public space will also be created for future use.

The 9000-seat arena will accommodate such events as concerts, rodeos, equestrian events and championship boxing matches. Construction of the arena is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2001 and to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2002. The additional hotel rooms will bring the total of rooms and suites to 1,460 at The Orleans. 실시간 바카라사이트

Tower construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2001 and be completed in the second quarter of 2002. Coast Resorts anticipates that construction of the parking garage will begin in April 2001 and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2001. The additional parking facility will bring the total of available parking spaces at The Orleans to approximately 8,500.

The two restaurants and the Irish pub are currently under construction and are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2001. An Italian family-style restaurant, Sazio, will be leased and operated by Gustav Mauler, whose other Las Vegas restaurants include Spiedini and Oxo. Designed by renowned architect Paul Steelman, the 370-seat restaurant will also include a bar and banquet room. Another leased facility, Koto, will feature both Chinese and Japanese food and a sushi bar. The 140-seat restaurant will be operated Bryan and Diana Do of Houston, Texas. Brendan’s Irish Pub will seat 180 people and will feature live entertainment. The new facilities will bring the total number of restaurant seats at The Orleans to approximately 2,500.

The six new movie theaters will feature the same THX-certified sound systems and stadium seating that were made popular in Las Vegas by the original twelve-plex at The Orleans. “The Orleans movie theaters have been a showplace for the operators, Century Theaters, since we opened them in December 1997,” said Harlan Braaten. “This addition will bring our total at The Orleans to eighteen screens and 4,900 seats, making it the largest theater complex in Southern Nevada.

Coast Resorts, Inc. is a Nevada-based gaming company that was incorporated in 1995. Through its operating subsidiary, Coast Hotels and Casinos, Inc., it owns and operates four Las Vegas hotel-casinos, the Barbary Coast, the Gold Coast, the Suncoast and The Orleans.
